Similar Roles
S&P Global has recently announced the intent to separate our Mobility Segment into a standalone public company.
For more information, visit www.spglobal.com/mobility .
The Team:
At S&P Mobility, we are transitioning to a machine-driven "Augmented Strategist" model, shifting the forecast paradigm from data entry to intelligent oversight. We are seeking a Data Scientist to build our Next Gen Forecast Platform, designed to empower experts to move beyond curation and focus on high-impact strategy and exception management.
You will not just build models; you will architect the logic that powers the global automotive demand and supply chain, ensuring that every AI-generated decision is transparent, explicable, and rigorous.
Responsibilities and Impact:
You will contribute to the development of a unified forecasting ecosystem that blends advanced econometrics with Advanced AI.
Simulation engine
GenAI Integration
Constraint-Based Optimization
What we are looking for:
Required Qualifications:
If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
It is the policy of Mobility to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. In addition, Mobility will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.

- Innovate, Don't Just Optimize: You are not just tweaking parameters. You are helping to build a system that understands the difference between a "Production Constraint" and a "Demand Drop".
- Strategic Impact: Your work will directly support the automaker strategy, enabling high-stakes decisions on global profit and volume trade-offs.
- Mentorship: Work alongside our Senior Data Scientist and mentor junior talent, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives fuel the "Touchless" revolution.
Responsibilities and Impact:
You will contribute to the development of a unified forecasting ecosystem that blends advanced econometrics with Advanced AI.
Simulation engine
- Beyond Standard Regression: By ingesting market drivers, price and volume, your models will allow strategists to adjust input parameters rather than manual outputs, automatically calculating the resulting demand based on the math, rather than human intuition alone.
- Demand elasticity: Develop algorithms that ingest diverse market signals-from pricing shifts to macro-economic indicators-to simulate demand elasticity.
- Pattern Recognition: Utilize Machine Learning to better identify the competitive sector.
GenAI Integration
- Intelligent Querying: Refine and scale the existing hybrid systems (Rule-Based + LLM) that replace complex filtering with natural language search, finalizing the transition to fully accessible data for non-technical stakeholders.
- Model Context Protocol (MCP): We are moving away from "Black Box" predictions. You will implement the MCP to standardize how our GenAI agents interface with data, ensuring full lineage and explicability for every output.
- Scenario Architecting: Build LLM-driven agents capable of translating natural language intent into mathematical adjustments, allowing users to simulate complex geopolitical or economic scenarios via text.
Constraint-Based Optimization
- Feasibility Logic: Design the "Gatekeeper" logic that ensures forecasts respect physical realities, such as infrastructure limitations, regulatory bans, and production capacities.
- Supply-Chain Optimization: Contribute to the development of solvers that balance sales demand against supply chain constraints to optimize global profitability.
What we are looking for:
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Master's in data science, Computer Science, Econometrics, or Statistics.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in developing machine learning models and predictive systems.
- Core ML & Python: Strong proficiency in Python (scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) with experience in ensemble methods (e.g., XGBoost/Random Forest).
- GenAI & Protocols: Hands-on experience with LLMs and RAG architectures.
- Forecasting Aptitude: Experience with demand forecasting, price elasticity modelling, or time-series analysis.
- Communication: The ability to explain complex logic to business stakeholders, turning it into transparent insights.
- Business: Experience in the automotive sector is a plus.
